Lectures and workshops I welcome invitations to give lectures and workshops, illustrated by slides, especially on the ideas and themes described in Gardens of the Gods. Workshop: “The Garden as Temple” A weekend workshop on the theme of “The Garden as Temple”, planned to take place in Rühstädt in July 2004, had to be put on hold, but is ready to be activated again. I am particularly interested in finding a partner organisation that can incorporate the workshop into their programme. The aim is to show how a garden, however large or small, can be made into a temple of nature and a place full of symbolic meaning. The workshop will include an overview of the sacred and symbolic dimensions of garden design, using examples from different cultures and periods, illustrated by colour slides. It will explore ways of interacting with nature, its intelligences and subtle energies, will offer practical suggestions and give participants the opportunity to develop plans for their own garden, terrace or balcony. If the location permits, there will also be practical exercises in a garden and in the natural environment.
